Personalising your studies
Make it personal...
To complement your studies, we make our support services personal to your individual needs. Teams of staff are available to you to support and enrich your learning at Croydon College.
Personal tutors
If you are a full-time student you will have a personal tutor who is responsible for making sure you settle in quickly, guiding and advising you during your course and is on hand to help if problems arise. You will have regular one-to-one meetings with your tutor, where you will discuss your goals, and agree targets for your learning.
Learning support
Whether it's help structuring an essay, some tips on spelling or maths or a specific learning difficulty or disability we can help. You can access specialist services by alerting your tutor or teacher both before you start your course and throughout your time at the College. Also, why not take advantage of the extra informal support offered by qualified teachers in the Study Skills Centre, based in the Library? The Centre has a range of support materials available for use by any student, features a ‘drop-in’ service and also benefits from English support if English is your second language.
Welfare advice
Do you need some information, advice or guidance on issues such as accommodation, state benefits, residency, family or legal problems? Come and talk to us. The Welfare Team can be contacted through the main college switchboard number.
Respect for All
The College regards all members as being of equal value and any racism and sexism will be positively resisted. Members of the College come from a wide diversity of communities with a variety of backgrounds. The College is determined that this diversity will be reflected in the curriculum and every aspect of college life. You will be expected to respect the different needs of those around you and support their success.

Counselling
Everyone faces problems or worries at some time or other. Sometimes friends and family provide the support we need. Sometimes we need to get advice or support from people outside our usual circle of friends. We have a team of qualified counsellors to support you if you need advice or help with a personal issue, or if things are going wrong for you in college.
Students' association
The students' association is run by students for our students and is part of the National Union of Students (NUS). Have your say and help us to continually improve your experience at the College.
